Are you Kidding Me?
Republicans in California are trying to split the electoral votes proportionally in time for the 2008 elections. They say it’s “more fair.”
Are you kidding me? Seriously? Is this the level of lying that we’re dealing with now? Obviously, it’s only fair if all states do this. If only “blue states” do this, or if only “red states” do this, then it’s not fair at all. If you’re a Republican, and you’re not willing to fight this ugly, ugly attempt at corrupting the outcome of the Presidential election, then you simply do not believe in democracy.

I feel like there’s an opportunity here. If california passed this measure with wording that said the change only “turned on” once Texas and Florida pass similar rules, then we’d be getting somewhere…

Oliver: that idea is actually already out there: National Popular Vote. I fully support it. But I doubt that’s what the Republican party has in mind here.

It’s not even fair if all states did it.
